THE CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT DISMISSES AN OUTSTANDING  FEMALE JUDGE

Yogyakarta-Public Relation: The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Prof. Dr. H. M. Syarifuddin, S.H., M.H. dismisses The Chief Judge of Yogyakarta Religious High Court, Dr. Dra. Hj. Sisva Yetti, SH., M.H. on Tuesday (30/4) in the hall of Yogyakarta Religious High Court.

This dismission was also attended by the Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for Judicial Matters Dr. Sunarto, S.H., M.H., the Chief of the Supreme Court Religious Chamber Prof. Dr. Amran Suadi, S.H., M.Hum., the Member of Judicial Commission Drs. M. Taufik HZ, M.H.I., Director General of the Supreme Court Religious Court Drs. Muklis, S.H., M.H., Governor of Yogyakarta representative, Officials of Yogyakarta Regional Executives Forum, Supreme Justice retirees, Chiefs of Religious High Court of the entire Indonesia, Chiefs of Yogyakarta Religious Court, and others.

The President of Indonesia resigned Sisva with his honor and appreciation for all her services and dedication as a judge through the Excerpt of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Decree number: 32/P of 2024 on the Resignation of Judge in the Religious Court Jurisdiction dated 16 February 2024.

On the same occasion, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court expressed his deep appreciation for Sisva as she has been charged for 40 years as a judge and a court chief. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said it is not easy to perform the duty as a female judge, it needs a robust judicial capability and a strong leadership. It became more challenging as among 34 Chiefs of the Religious High Court of the entire Indonesia, Sisva was one of them and this was a very memorable, wonderful, and proud achievement of her. The Chief Justice hopes that her achievement will become a positive model for other female judges in Indonesia.

As for the 40 years of dedication in the judicial industry, he believes that Sisva has been through many ups and downs in her life. He also believes that every tear and joy will become a great dedication and reward in her personal and family life.

“I believe that you have experienced many ups and downs as a judge, but then I also believe with your dedication and sincerity all the problems have been passed perfectly.

SISVA WAS ONE OF TWO OUTSTANDING FEMALE JUDGES

Dr. Dra. Hj. Sisva Yetti, SH., M.H. is a woman who was born in Bukittinggi on 24 April 1957. She started her career as a judge candidate at the Religious Court of Mataram in 1984. At the same court, she was appointed as a First Judge. Sisva also traveled around many Indonesian regions to perform her duty the same as other judges. Some of the regions were Praya, Padang, Surabaya, Bandung, Bangka Belitung, Pontianak, and others.

Before she became the Chief Judge of Yogyakarta High Religious Court, the alumnus of Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) of Imam Bonjol is ever occupy as the Deputy Chief of Bangka Belitung Religious High Court in 2017, the Deputy Chief Judge of Mataram Religious High Court in 2018, the Chief of Kupang Religious High Court in 2020, the Chief of Pontianak Religious High Court in 2022, and also the Chief of Yogyakarta Religious High Court in 2023 until she was retired.

Under her lead, Yogyakarta Religious High Court was the only one Appellate Court that awarded Serving and Clean Bureaucracy Zone (WBBM) predicate by the Ministry of Bureaucratic Reform.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said, that among 34 Chiefs of the Indonesian High Court, Sisva Yetti was one of the female judges who has delegated a responsibility as the Chief of the High Court. According to the data, in the meantime, there were just 2 female judges in the Religious Court jurisdiction who had duties as a chief. This was a special achievement to him and he hoped she could be a model for the other female judges in other courts.

On the same occasion, Sisva Yetti was very grateful that she could perform her duties well until she retired. She also hoped that the Yogyakarta Religious High Court would maintain its professionalism and integrity in the future.
